I’m a wife to one and mama to three. I want to make every day count and to live a life that makes a difference. I heard Joyce Meyer say that wisdom is doing today what you won’t regret tomorrow. I want to live a life of wisdom. I don’t want to be one of those moms that is always waiting for the kids to be out of diapers, then waiting for them to be in school, then waiting for them to be teenagers, and then they are out of the house and time is gone and the years God gave me to invest in them is over. Instead, I want to enjoy every moment and live a life without regret. My desire is to serve Jesus today and to live for Him on purpose in a way that glorifies Him and that I won’t look back on with regret tomorrow.

I named this blog “Godschick” because my kids had some influence in the decision. My husband and I are intentional about speaking life and encouragement over our kids. We do our best to speak what the Word says about them and to speak “what we do not see as though it were.” We tell them all the time “You are a leader”, “You are strong in God”, “You are loved by God”, “The Lord is pleased with you” and more. One of the jokes with my 6 year old son is that “You are one of God’s dudes” meaning that he belongs to God and God is pleased him. One day, I was joking around with my son and he said, “Mom, if I am one of God’s dude’s, then you must be one of God’s chicks.” So, that is where we got the name, if you were wondering.

  2. I love your blog! πŸ™‚ It’s so endearing to read how you see the Word of God in your everyday life – it’s how it’s meant to be. And it’s a lot of fun reading your blog because of the stories about the cute antics of your kids – they make me smile πŸ˜€ God bless you “godschick”!

  3. Love how you got your blog name! I’m always telling our three teens that: ” They can do all things through Christ Jesus…” And I’m doing my best to live like I believe it for me. They tend to copy what we do more than we say. Sounds like you are living out the truth and not just saying it. ~ Wendy

  11. Thanks for following my blog. I really like yours also. Looks like God is blessing your family and your writing right now. Love the name your son coined for the site. Keep writing and encouraging with your pen. Thanks for the blessing!

    • Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for the encouragement. It is funny, but when I was younger I struggled with writing papers in school….because of the structure. My husband is a pastor and invited me to speak on several occasions, which I very surprisingly enjoyed! Then, he encouraged me to start writing (he is an author/pastor/speaker) and I found that I actually really like writing when it comes from my heart. I do need encouragement though. πŸ™‚ Your encouraging words bless me today and encourage me. Thank you. Blessings to you!

  12. Cute blog name! Thanks for the follow, and I look forward to exploring your site. Taking the perspective of living in the moment while your little ones are still little is a treasure. It took me till #4 to finally not ‘look forward’ to milestones I knew were ahead and loved. The first years of the first 3 went by oh so ever too quickly, and I just wanted to treasure this littlest one for a long as I could. It did make those first handful of year so delightful, and her and I so very close.

Thanks for the follow, and I look forward to exploring your site! Blessings! Regina

    • I know…it sure goes by quick. It is flying by! Wish it would slow down. You have four children….you are amazing. Thank you for stopping by my blog! Blessings!

  13. Thanks for dropping by my blog.

May God bless you, your family and your ministries. A wish to live a life of wisdom is a great thing; Proverbs extols wisdom a great deal and shows its benefits.

  14. Thank you for your “follow” of my Prayer Journal. I am so honored that you think it worthy. Life the words you read up to our Almighty King, so they may be heard, and His will be done. God bless you!

  20. Hi Kirsten,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and liking my post. I’m glad for this chance to check out your blog. May your love for God help save souls, and bring you abundant blessings!

  21. Kirsten, your blog is an inspiration to me today. I recently started my blog sundayswithdad as a way to record my 84 year old dad’s great story telling. I have found I like telling stories too. I am a plodder with a couple followers and a few likes. My dad’s life, like my late mom’s, is a facsinating one of following Jesus. I get overwhelmed with the blogoshpere and am grateful you made the connection. Thank you!

  22. Funny hoe He throws people together in the same pond! I love kale, running (yeah, I quit the racing circuit awhile back, too! LOL) and of course Jesus Christ. Being born again is,as you already know, not a popular life path for most. When I find a kindred spirit like you, I love to say hi and give you a high five…you rock!
    Have a wonderful week!

  23. Hello Kirsten, wife to one, mom to 3! I am Valerie, wife to one mom to 5 πŸ™‚
Thanks so much for the blog love, makes my heart smile when fellow Christian bloggers connect. Blessings in your writings and the other ministries you are a part of!
